To support effective implementation of the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence, the Department of Education is hosting a series of information webinars designed to support implementation readiness and to provide clarity on the National Code’s requirements and standards.
The September 2025 edition of the APSAA Student Accommodation Journal is now available online for members. This edition features insights from across the sector on implementing the new National Higher Education Code, strengthening partnerships with universities, and driving lasting cultural change.
This issue comes at a critical time for our sector, as the passage of the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence shifts attention to implementation. The Asia Pacific Student Accommodation Association (APSAA) welcomes the Australian Parliament’s passage of legislation establishing the mandatory National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence. The consequential amendments bill passed both houses on 25 August 2025, paving the way for the Code’s implementation across the sector.
